“Some of our programs connect people with housing resources. We’ve also provided services to the detention center inmates, where they can record themselves reading a children’s book, and then we give the recording and a copy of the book to the person’s children. Some of them get library cards and bring their children to the library once they’ve been released. The most important thing is that we have community offerings that can help those who need it, and help the community move towards acceptance of others.”
